Interpol-Flagged French-Algerian Arrested in Marrakech

Marrakech – Marrakech police arrested on Tuesday a French national of Algerian origin, following an Interpol notice issued by French judicial authorities, according to security sources.
The suspect, aged 44, was arrested after a check of Interpol databases, following a red notice issued by the French judicial authorities, for his presumed involvement in a criminal network dealing in international drug trafficking, the same source stresses.
According to the initial findings of the investigation, the arrested foreign national is wanted by the French judicial authorities for his alleged involvement, between 2020 and 2021, in organizing international drug trafficking operations dispatched to south of France.
The suspect was subjected to the extradition procedure, pending his appearance before the competent public prosecutor’s office, the same source notes, adding that the French security authorities were alerted of this arrest.
