Washington, DC — July 12, 2025 –Moroccan American Network Launches “Road to Morocco” Heritage Week in Washington to celebrate Deep Roots and a Bright Future: Amazigh, Jewish, Hassani, Riffi, and African Identities at the Heart of a Global Dialogue.
As the Kingdom of Morocco takes a historic step toward hosting the 2030 FIFA World Cup, the Moroccan American Network proudly announces “Morocco Day Heritage Week: The Road to Morocco”, a landmark celebration taking place from November 18–23, 2025 in Washington, DC and Alexandria, VA.
Held under the theme “Celebrating Our Roots, Building Our Future,” this year’s Heritage Week offers a powerful platform for Moroccan Americans and friends of Morocco to honor a cultural legacy that spans continents, civilizations, and generations.
From the vibrant rhythms of Gnawa music rooted in Morocco’s African heritage, to the timeless traditions of Amazigh, Jewish, Hassani, and Riffi communities, this event reflects the mosaic of identities that define Moroccan culture. Morocco’s diversity is its strength—and this celebration amplifies that message on American soil.
“Morocco is more than a country; it is a bridge between Africa, the Arab world, Europe, and the Americas,” said Mohamed Elhajjam, president of the Moroccan American Network. “As Morocco prepares for the world stage in 2030, this event is our way of showing how Moroccan Americans contribute to that journey, not just through culture, but through entrepreneurship, investment, and community action.”
Highlights of the week will include:
•Cultural showcases and heritage exhibitions
•Business and investment panels: Opportunities on the Road to Morocco 2030
•Performances of traditional Amazigh, Gnawa, and Hassani music
•Storytelling and documentaries celebrating Moroccan Jewish legacy
•Networking sessions linking U.S. and Moroccan entrepreneurs
Supported by AV Actions, Hauk, and Global Pixel, this week-long celebration seeks to empower the Moroccan-American voice in shaping Morocco’s future—while remembering the sacred histories that define our collective identity.
